• Who gets sleep with a newborn baby?! You do!

  • If I’m there at mealtime, you can expect it to be served to you in bed.

  • Fed is best. You are doing a great job.

  • Sleep: Lets talk about sleep, who gets sleep with a newborn baby?! You do! Sleep is an essential part of recovery and your recovery is my top priority. overnight support, taking care of the baby while you nap and educating families on infant sleep as time goes on.

  • Next we have nutrition which is arguably just as important as sleep. I will prep meals and snacks for the whole family. If I’m there at mealtime, you can expect it to be served to you in bed. I have several postpartum recovery geared meal and snack recipes (GF, DF optional) that I have on hand. I will also happily prepare your families go-to meals as well. Eating a variety of nutritious meals in those early phases of postpartum is essential for recovery, both physically and mentally. It is also essential for milk production. So let’s get into it.

  • Breastfeeding is something I can absolutely guide you through. Whatever avenue you take; exclusively breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or a combination of the two. We will work together to get you on a routine that works for you. If you chose to formula feed, I can assist with choosing a bottle that works for your baby, paced feeding and proper sterilization/formula prep methods. No matter the route you take, you are nourishing your baby and that is enough.

  • Emotional Support is yet another under acknowledged reality of postpartum. Sometimes my support looks like me sitting next to you, holding your hand while you let the tears flow. I will provide you a safe space, where you can share anything and everything. Nothing needs to be held back. I want you to feel those feelings, without hesitation. I have a number of incredible resources surrounding perinatal mental health ready to share with you.

Postpartum mothers are something that often times get overlooked. It’s my job as your postpartum doula to keep the you in my focus. It’s easy for the attention to shift to the baby but, lets face it, the baby is getting non-stop support from doctors, family and YOU. Postpartum Support from me looks like you getting that much deserved care and attention. My support for you varies based on your needs. Those needs are always shifting and adapting. It’s my job to shift and adapt with them while holding space for you to gently move through this vulnerable stage of life.

While your healing, nourishing your baby and yourself with rest and proper meals, I’ll be washing those bottles, dishes, breastmilk stained shirts and much more. I want you to know you have my support coming that day and sigh a breath of relief. That is my objective.
